Originally launched in 1972 for the Munich Olympics, the SL-72 was a favourite amongst runners for both training and race use. In a 1975 article, market research found over 16% of people surveyed were running in the model. Given the modern day maximalist running shoes it's wild to consider this is the shoe people were throwing on for a run in the '70s.

With more than a passing resemblance to the colour combinations and silhouette used by Grace Wales Bonner over the past few seasons. The nylon and suede uppers are more true to the original release whilst complimenting the contemporary colourway.
